Egon Müller, Scharzhof Riesling 2023

The Egon Müller estate has been in the hands of the Müller family since 1797. In the Mosel’s steep, slate vineyards, the winemaking master Egon Müller makes breathtaking Rieslings. The estate owns 8.3 of the 28 hectares of the famous Scharzhofberg vineyard in Germany’s Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. The family is ranked among the region’s top wine producers who make their wine from arguably Germany's greatest "Grand Cru" Riesling vineyard. Made entirely from Riesling, Scharzhof QbA opens with delicate aromas of lemon, lime, green apple, and white peach, lifted by flinty mineral tones. The palate is light-bodied and racy, with bracing acidity balanced by a touch of residual sweetness that adds charm without heaviness. Crisp and precise, the wine finishes with lingering notes of citrus and slate, capturing the Saar’s signature elegance in an approachable, beautifully fresh style.
